The PING web site had grown to over 150 pages of detailed product and company information. The challenge was to maintain the depth of information while making the site easy to navigate, fun to view and consistent with the PING brand.
PING is known in the industry as the innovator of custom-fit, custom-built golf clubs. A site visitor survey and focus groups revealed that consumers wanted to understand the fitting process.
To enhance the consumer experience, an animated self-guided fitting program was created. In addition, fitting variables were integrated throughout the site in support of specific products. The site also introduced the PING Community, where PING golfers may register their equipment and all golfers may sign up to become members. The Community enables PING to communicate with members, provide better service and with new product introductions, get the initial buzz started with the company's most loyal customers.
